Doug & Anna-Karin Molgaard and their family returned to Gothenburg, Sweden in August 2005 in response to an invitation from InterAct to assist in a church planting ministry. InterACT was established in 1996 when three small denominations came together to form one evangelical denomination. InterAct seeks mission organizations to partner with them to reach their nation for Christ.

In December 2006, New Life Church of Stockholm (a member of InterAct) officially announced they would serve as the mother church for the Gothenburg project. New Life is a Swedish church with a strong international profile. Their ministry is bilingual (Swedish and English). Pastor John van Dinther of New Life Church mentored the Molgaards and assisted in forming a leadership team for the new Gothenburg church. New Life Gothenburg was officially launched in October 2008 and installed a pastor and elders in August 2010.

In 2010, the Molgaards began a new focus on a simple, missional, organic church model and have created a network of like-minded pastors and leaders. Two years later, they had 5 discipleship small groups with 10-20 people in each group. In addition, the H2O ministry was established as a non-profit organization.Today they serve in partnership with Christian Associates International https://christianassociates.org to assist with church planting projects in the Gothenburg area. The CGGC still seeks to partner with New Life Church by encouraging others to join their church planting teams in Sweden.
