The Churches of God in Haiti
includes 33 churches and mission stations with over 6,900 members.
These congregations reported 361 conversions and 160 baptisms in 2009.
Over 2,657 students are enrolled in 17 Christian primary schools
supervised by the churches. Pastor Pierre Max Normil serves as President
of Confèrence des Eglises de Dieu en Haïti which holds its annual
assembly the first week in January. A new discipleship training center
is under construction at Borel to serve the growing needs of the
Churches of God in Haiti.

The
CGGC ministry of Project Help celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2007. Dr.
Vic and Donna Binkley (pictured right) have been key leaders in Project
Help since 1991 and have also assisted the Haitian leadership in the
medical ministry at Pierre Payen. Nearly 8,800 patients were treated at
the medical clinic and hospital facilities in 2008. Dr. Binkley was
diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in Spring 2009 and passed away on
February 12, 2010.
Steve
and Shirley Mossburg (pictured left) joined Project Help as
missionaries in September 2009. They have had a passion for the people
of Haiti for several years and are eager to be part of the Project Help
ministry. Steve now serves as Project Help Manager.
After his first visit
to Haiti in April 2000, Steve asked God to make his life more available
to serve in missions. He then began volunteering with Project Help to
assist with several work projects. Reading John 15:16 with new
understanding in 2002, Steve founded the G.A.P (Go and Produce)
Ministry for which he still serves as Executive Director. That
organization has mobilized work teams and effectively served a variety
of ministries in Haiti, including our own Project Help/Churches of God.
Steve retired from a
32-year career at General Electric in 1997. Since then, he has been a
self-emplyed contractor which has allowed him to spend many weeks a
year in Haiti serving G.A.P Ministry. Shirley has been employed as a
bookkeeper and is gifted in hospitality and encouragement. The
Mossburgs have 4 children and 7 grandchildren.

Andrew & Theresa
Snyder (pictured right) of the Bare Memorial Church (ERC) have been
approved by the CCM Commission for a 2+ months missions internship in
Haiti this summer. They have applied to become new Project Help
missionaries serving at Borel. This internship is the next step in
their potential placement. Pray for them as they continue to prepare,
which includes raising support for the internship. Their designated
support account is CC 2809.004 (Snyder internship).
CCM
is currently seeking two missionary candidates to serve as
pastoral advisor (based in Saint-Marc) as well as provide leadership
training (based in Borel). For more information, please contact Don
Dennison at missions@cggc.org
